Precautions for silicone rubber molds

Precautions:

1. Component B is a catalyst that is prone to hydrolysis when exposed to moisture, so the lid should be tightly sealed after use.

2. Once components A and B are mixed, a chemical reaction begins immediately, and the viscosity gradually increases, making it impossible to stop. To avoid waste, prepare only as much as needed and use it immediately after preparation. Do not delay.

3. The mixing ratio of components A and B affects the speed of the chemical reaction and the performance of the mold. The more component B, the faster the reaction, and the higher the strength and hardness of the product, but the toughness decreases. Therefore, precise weighing is required.

4. Before preparation, the component A material should be stirred thoroughly up and down, and then weighed.

5. The casting method is suitable for relief sculptures, while the brushing method is suitable for the production of three-dimensional molds. For casting relief sculptures, a frame with dimensions 4-6cm larger than the original sculpture in both length and width should be made first. The frame should be flat and straight, with a smooth inner surface. When casting, place the frame on a clean glass plate, then place the original piece in the frame, leaving a gap of 2-3cm on each side.
