Silicone rubber mold is one of the simplest methods in rapid tooling. It generally involves using silicone rubber to overmold the RP prototype, but its lifespan is very short, only about 10-30 parts! It has excellent elasticity and replication performance. When using silicone rubber for replication, there is no need to consider the draft angle, which will not affect the dimensional accuracy. It has good parting performance, and the entire mold can be poured directly without separating the upper and lower molds. Then, simply cut along the predetermined parting line to remove the master mold!
